This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong, +2 more states.
• Design, implement, and sustain a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management framework that encompasses operational, market, credit, liquidity, legal, compliance, and reputational risks.
• Define and uphold the firm's risk appetite statement in collaboration with senior management and the board, ensuring the establishment of effective risk policies and procedures.
• Supervise continuous risk monitoring and generate regular risk reports for senior management and the board.
• Identify and address emerging or significant risks while supporting internal governance through risk reviews and scenario analyses.
• Contribute to the ICAAP and necessary stress testing activities in accordance with PRU requirements.
• Serve as the primary risk liaison with the FSRA and assist with regulatory submissions pertaining to risk, capital adequacy, and financial resilience.
• Ensure the independence, adequate resourcing, and integration of the risk management function into governance and decision-making processes.
• Participate in committees such as the Risk Committee and ALCO, providing support to the SEO and board in their risk oversight duties.
• Evaluate new business initiatives, products, and operational model changes for their risk implications.
• Maintain personal accountability for the design and efficacy of the risk framework.
• A degree-level qualification in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, Mathematics, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• Extensive experience in risk management within exchanges, clearing houses, capital markets, financial market infrastructure, or virtual asset environments.
• Strong knowledge of the ADGM regulatory framework, including Market Infrastructure Rules and essential risk principles for financial market infrastructures.
• Proven experience in managing or overseeing risks related to market, clearing, settlement, liquidity, collateral, and operational resilience.
• Experience engaging with regulators, boards, senior management, and key stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills complemented by strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Capacity to align regulatory expectations with business strategy and practical risk controls.
• Proficiency in assessing complex issues, forming clear viewpoints, and providing constructive challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Credible communication skills with regulators, boards, senior management, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong ownership of governance, documentation, escalation, and follow-through processes.
• Comfortable operating in a high-growth, highly regulated setting.
