Head of Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the long-term product vision spanning various products and markets.

• Establish priorities informed by customer insights and data analytics.

• Develop a scalable strategy that aligns with Abaco's growth objectives.

• Lead the comprehensive development of new lending products such as declining-balance loans, working capital solutions, and micro-factoring.

• Convert business opportunities into precise requirements for the Engineering team.

• Oversee the management of the product backlog.

• Collaborate closely with teams in Engineering, Data, Risk, Pricing, Operations, Legal, and Collections.

• Foster alignment among stakeholders.

• Present product strategies and business cases to senior leadership with financial and commercial credibility.

• Define product KPIs, success metrics, and frameworks for experimentation.

• Work alongside the Data team for collection, reporting, and insights.

• Establish scalable processes for quicker launches and iterations.

• Assist in defining the integration of AI into customer-facing experiences and internal workflows.

• Support the transition toward conversational channels such as WhatsApp.

• Identify opportunities for automation in customer experience, operational efficiency, and decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Management, preferably within fintech, lending, embedded finance, or credit sectors.

• Bilingual proficiency.

• Proven track record of building products or product organizations from the ground up.

• Strong commercial acumen, effectively balancing customer needs, business objectives, and technical execution.

• Experience in close collaboration with Engineering throughout the entire product lifecycle.

• Highly analytical with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced and high-ambiguity environments.

• Strong advantage: Experience in B2B lending, SME financial services, or regulated financial institutions.

• Experience as a founder or in early-stage startup environments.

• Proficiency in SQL.

• Background in integrating AI into digital products or business operations.

• Experience in small, high-performing product teams.

• Nice to have: Experience across various countries or international markets.

• Familiarity with conversational products or customer experience via WhatsApp.

• Exposure to risk, underwriting, or financial operations.
