This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Facilitate seasonal brainstorming sessions encompassing print, graphics, fabric, and design trends across inline, wholesale, collaborations, and limited editions.
• Conduct research on competitive and aspirational brands to ensure Shinesty's creative output remains sharp and pertinent.
• Discover and propose innovative print techniques.
• Introduce fresh, culturally-aware print concepts quarterly.
• Design across all categories, including ski, formal wear, hats, socks, tees, and knitwear, particularly focusing on underwear.
• Create custom repeats, optimize color artwork, and produce production-ready files in Illustrator.
• Collaborate with the Design team on solid color assortments, novelty treatments, and silhouette development.
• Strategically delegate tasks across the print team to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
• Conceptualize and oversee artwork for limited editions, as well as retail and wholesale initiatives.
• Manage, mentor, and inspire a small print design team, establishing clear priorities and maintaining a high creative standard.
• Conduct print design reviews with the broader team; collect feedback and efficiently drive revisions.
• Oversee the bi-weekly Sprint Board and organize regular team syncs to maintain clarity of priorities and high momentum.
• Collaborate with Merch and Ops to enhance processes and minimize errors in product development.
• Identify intelligent opportunities to leverage AI and engage freelance/VA support where it enhances capacity.
• 5-10+ years of experience in print or textile design within the apparel or consumer products sectors.
• Profound proficiency in Adobe Illustrator—creating repeats, color reductions, and production files is second nature.
• Exceptional skills in curation and an eye for taste.
• A true understanding of trend forecasting—you can identify what resonates before it reaches its peak.
• A sense of humor and genuine appreciation for what drives Shinesty's brand—you understand the humor and can enhance it.
• Demonstrated experience in leading or mentoring a design team while remaining an active contributor.
• Strong project management abilities—you can manage a calendar, lead meetings, and provide direct, constructive feedback.
• Comfortable working across various product categories and channels, including DTC, wholesale, collaborations, and retail.
• Experience with licensed collaborations, novelty products, or private labels is a plus.
• Relocation budget available (to Denver/Boulder), though not mandatory.
