This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• Execute daily compliance evaluations for new products, features, market expansions, and significant changes within OKX's worldwide business and product portfolio.
• Assess product specifications, technical documents, user experiences, onboarding processes, trading or transaction mechanics, reward frameworks, disclosures, and operational workflows.
• Utilize a risk-based methodology to identify legal or regulatory barriers versus risks that can be mitigated through controls, product stipulations, jurisdictional limitations, monitoring, escalation, or risk acceptance.
• Perform and document product compliance risk evaluations encompassing licensing, AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, consumer protection, financial promotions, trading and market behavior, asset protection, data privacy, and third-party risk.
• Generate evidence-driven compliance recommendations addressing risks, mitigations, residual exposure, and approval or escalation pathways.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, Central Compliance, and local Compliance teams to devise practical and scalable solutions.
• Keep thorough documentation and audit trails for evaluations, decisions, conditions, exceptions, approvals, and modifications.
• Assist in post-launch monitoring, control testing, and assurance; facilitate remediation of identified issues.
• Advocate for compliance-by-design and articulate the Product Compliance framework and requirements.
• Provide targeted training or guidance to Product, Engineering, and business teams.
• Support special initiatives and priority product launches.
• Minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience in Compliance, Legal, or Risk within the financial services, fintech, payments, or cryptocurrency sectors.
• Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, economics, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience in product compliance, regulatory advisory, or product risk assessment.
• In-depth understanding of digital asset products, including trading, custody, payments, staking or earning products, lending, structured products, wallets, or DeFi.
• Strong working knowledge of licensing, regulatory perimeter issues, AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, consumer protection, financial promotions, and trading or market conduct requirements.
• Capability to analyze intricate, high-risk products and convert regulatory requirements into actionable product specifications and controls.
• Experience utilizing AI-driven technology for risk assessment, including aligning agentic skills with the Company's risk appetite.
• Exceptional risk judgment and practical, risk-based decision-making skills.
• Proficient in developing repeatable product compliance solutions, controls, and review processes.
• Strong project management and execution capabilities; adept at managing simultaneous reviews, maintaining documentation, and adhering to product launch timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the capacity to constructively challenge proposals.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment.
• High personal integrity and sound professional judgment.
• Nice to have: direct product compliance or regulatory advisory experience at a cryptocurrency exchange, fintech, or technology-driven financial services company.
• Nice to have: experience in supporting multi-jurisdictional product launches across the United States, European Union, Middle East, or Asia-Pacific.
• Nice to have: knowledge of CeFi trading products, Web3 products, blockchain technology, smart contracts, DeFi protocols, and digital asset transaction flows.
