This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• You will provide counsel to the executive team and staff on all legal issues, particularly focusing on contract law, corporate law, labor law, data protection, intellectual property, media law, platform regulation, and compliance.
• Your responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with partners, sponsors, service providers, talent, agencies, publishers, event organizers, and other stakeholders.
• You will offer legal support for strategic initiatives, funding rounds, partnerships, product development, international expansions, and potential mergers and acquisitions.
• You will create scalable legal processes, contract templates, internal policies, compliance frameworks, and decision-making tools for a rapidly growing startup.
• Your role involves managing external law firms and coordinating collaboration with authorities, advisors, and other external partners.
• You will assist with legal matters concerning gaming, esports, digital communities, youth protection, content, trademark rights, community governance, and inclusive platform offerings.
• You are a fully qualified lawyer with two state exams (or an equivalent legal qualification).
• You possess several years of professional experience in a corporate law firm, in-house at a company or startup, or within a technology, media, gaming, or esports environment.
• You have strong expertise in contract law and ideally have experience in several of the following areas: corporate law, labor/employment law, data protection, intellectual property, media law, compliance, or digital business models.
• You demonstrate an entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset while recognizing legal risks.
• You can articulate complex legal topics clearly and provide actionable recommendations.
• You work independently, in an organized manner, and responsibly in a dynamic environment.
• You have a keen interest in gaming, esports, digital platforms, community products, and inclusive company structures.
• You possess excellent proficiency in both German and English.
• You will assume a central leadership role in an ambitious esports startup with a social mission.
• You will engage directly with the executive team and have a tangible impact on strategic decisions.
• You will enjoy significant autonomy in shaping our legal, governance, and compliance frameworks.
