This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Formulate and execute comprehensive people strategies that align with our global mission.
• Direct the strategic workforce planning, scaling, and organizational growth along with team and talent expansion.
• Offer clear, operational, and strategic guidance to executives, country directors, and department heads to promote high performance, growth, development opportunities, and talent retention.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights, reports, and data to support informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with Finance on the annual staff budgeting process and with the Development department on funding applications and other personnel-related requests.
• Cultivate, maintain, and advocate for an inclusive, diverse, and open organizational culture.
• Partner with the Dutch works council of our European Regional Office to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Oversee and continually enhance the daily administration of our international employee lifecycle, ensuring efficient contract management, payroll preparation, and data accuracy.
• Spearhead the development of a scalable people operations infrastructure through effective technology use, automation, and process design.
• Manage and optimize our global HR systems landscape, with primary responsibility for platforms including Deel, Personio, and Leapsome.
• Ensure compliant employment frameworks across relevant jurisdictions, supporting international entity operations in cooperation with external legal partners.
• Establish and supervise the departmental budget.
• Lead, develop, and motivate our International Senior Talent Acquisition Manager, promoting a collaborative, supportive, and high-impact environment.
• Steer our international recruitment framework and employer branding initiatives to attract purpose-driven talent.
• Implement strategies for employee engagement, workplace satisfaction, and global well-being initiatives.
• Lead and assist with employee relations efforts and strategic reviews.
• Significant international leadership experience in a senior HR or generalist capacity, with a proven record of success in mission-driven non-profit organizations with over 50 employees.
• Deep understanding of people operations, international employment practices, and compliance with cross-border labor laws.
• Practical experience in implementing and managing global HRIS, payroll, or employer-of-record platforms, preferably including Deel, Personio, or Teamtailor.
• Strong ability to simplify operational complexity into structured and scalable processes.
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, capable of fostering trust and inclusivity among distributed, multicultural teams.
• Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
• University degree in human resources management, business administration, psychology, law, or a related field.
• Preferred: Practical experience working with European legal entities or works councils. Familiarity with AI tools and an understanding of their responsible application to enhance efficiency and scale systems. Professional proficiency in Dutch to confidently interact with regional authorities or local legal advisors. Knowledge of project management tools (we utilize Wrike).
