This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Step into the role of technical leader, positioned at the convergence of our engineering teams and the overarching product and business strategy.
• Take ownership of execution, architecture, and the well-being of the team.
• Dedicate approximately 25–35% of your time to hands-on technical responsibilities, including architecture evaluations, prototyping, and critical infrastructure code reviews.
• Recruit and retain exceptional engineering talent, develop and expand product teams, and mentor Tech Leads.
• Define the technical roadmap for the upcoming phase of our platform and oversee its implementation across teams.
• Establish engineering practices, architecture governance, and technical standards to guarantee consistent, high-quality releases.
• Promote the adoption of AI tools among teams to enhance engineers' efficiency and effectiveness.
• Act as the engineering representative at the leadership table, contributing to build/buy/partner decisions.
• Demonstrated experience in leading an engineering organization through significant platform initiatives.
• Extensive knowledge of modern cloud-native and server architectures, including microservices, containers, CI/CD, and AWS/Azure/GCP, with experience in enterprise settings like single-tenant private clouds or on-premise deployments.
• Several years of experience in leading engineering teams, including oversight of Tech Leads and engineering managers.
• Proven track record of cultivating empowered product teams where engineers are actively engaged in discovery alongside product managers and designers.
• Genuine technical expertise: capable of conducting architecture reviews, making build/buy/partner decisions, and actively contributing to critical infrastructure when necessary.
• Experience in CAx, simulation, or similar engineering fields is highly advantageous.
