Head of Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee Engineering and SRE teams, establishing high standards for talent, performance, and organizational culture.

• Foster a robust people-centric leadership style, emphasizing growth, accountability, and long-term team success.

• Act as a vital liaison between engineering, product, and executive leadership, influencing strategy and ensuring swift, coordinated execution.

• Take ownership of operational excellence, which includes reliability, observability, incident management, and a strong technical support orientation.

• Champion the adoption of contemporary engineering methodologies, incorporating effective AI tools throughout the engineering lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in senior engineering leadership positions such as Group Manager, Director, or Head of Engineering.

• Demonstrated success in building and scaling engineering teams within SaaS organizations.

• Strong hands-on engineering experience; you have developed real systems and can dive deep into technical details when required (expertise in Python/backend systems, APIs, and AWS or GCP cloud architecture).

• Experience in designing and operating large-scale backend systems, including distributed architectures, high-availability environments, and production-grade services.

• Proven experience leading SRE, DevOps, or production engineering teams with complete responsibility for reliability and support.

• A strong people-first leader with a history of recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top talent.

• Enthusiasm for utilizing AI tools to enhance engineering speed and quality.

• Experience in data-intensive environments and fintech is a considerable advantage.

• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and spoken.
