This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• You will manage the delivery of all products, which includes scope management, release cadence, quality controls, and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
• You will be responsible for designing and implementing our agentic software development lifecycle:
• - Define the role of AI agents in coding, testing, code review, and documentation, and identify where human engineers need to intervene.
• - Establish quality gates to catch any AI-related errors, ensuring that every AI-generated artifact undergoes human verification based on risk levels.
• - Decide which agents to utilize, how they are configured, what guardrails they operate within, and how engineers oversee their outputs.
• - Set approval for tools and IP protection policies, ensuring that AI enhances development without introducing risks.
• - Evaluate what works, what does not, and iterate. The playbook is yet to be created — you will be the one to write it.
• You will manage the engineering team directly, which includes hiring, performance management, coaching, providing feedback, resolving conflicts, and ensuring retention.
• You will oversee the architecture across the entire stack: web applications, APIs, infrastructure, and AI integrations.
• You will establish the release pipeline, including CI/CD, environments, quality checkpoints, and deployment automation.
• You will be responsible for engineering security, including access controls, secrets management, audit trails, and SDLC security.
• You will help build the engineering team, defining roles, maintaining hiring standards, conducting technical interviews, and making hiring decisions.
• You are a first-principles thinker who approaches problems from the ground up rather than relying on past experiences. When faced with unprecedented challenges, such as designing quality gates for agent-generated clinical software, you find solutions.
• You possess a high learning velocity. The agentic SDLC is a new frontier for you. Even if you haven’t done this exact work before, you learn quickly and adapt efficiently to unfamiliar domains.
• You are ownership-oriented, viewing engineering leadership as taking ownership of outcomes rather than just managing tasks. You thrive in chaotic delivery environments, bringing order through clarity and accountability instead of excessive processes.
• You have startup experience, not just large enterprise backgrounds. You have delivered real products to actual users under tight deadlines, understanding the difference between building and delivering.
• You are technically credible, able to write and review code, debug production issues, and comprehend systems architecture at scale.
• You are direct and fair in your approach, providing feedback that fosters the growth of engineers while addressing conflicts promptly. Teams trust you for your honesty, consistency, and ability to keep them focused.
• Raw intellect is essential for this role. It requires someone who can navigate uncharted territory, designing human-agent engineering workflows, making architectural decisions under clinical data constraints, and building an engineering organization model without an established playbook. Intellectual capability is highly valued.
• You have strong academic foundations from a rigorous technical program (IIT, NIT, BITS, or an equivalent institution), as we appreciate the problem-solving skills developed through these programs.
• You have experience in building and leading engineering teams of 5-15 people at startups or high-growth companies, having shipped SaaS products rather than merely maintaining them.
• You have familiarity with or a strong interest in agentic AI workflows — leveraging AI agents in the development process rather than simply as autocomplete. Previous experimentation with agent-driven development is a significant advantage.
• Healthcare or healthtech experience is strongly preferred, especially regarding compliance, PHI handling, or clinical workflows. While not required, it will accelerate your onboarding process.
• You have contemplated AI governance in engineering, covering IP, security, quality, and audit, and you possess well-formed opinions on these matters rather than just questions.
• Competitive salary and equity options.
• Flexible working hours and a remote-friendly culture.
• Opportunities for professional development and growth.
• Collaborative and innovative work environment.
