This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Develop and execute the organization's strategy for employee relations and performance management, including its principles and operating framework.
β’ Establish the organization's methodology for performance management, focusing on the effective handling of underperformance.
β’ Create policies, processes, and templates to address performance issues, grievances, disciplinary actions, and other employee relations matters.
β’ Provide strategic oversight and guidance on complex, sensitive, or high-risk situations.
β’ Assist managers in addressing issues promptly, establishing clear expectations, and achieving fair and proportionate resolutions.
β’ Ensure that practices are implemented consistently while considering local legal obligations.
β’ Identify recurring patterns and propose preventative measures or organization-wide initiatives.
β’ Collaborate with People teams to ensure employee relations and performance practices align with the broader talent and reward strategy.
β’ Foster relationships with works councils, employee forums, and other representative organizations.
β’ Counsel leaders on consultation requirements, timelines, and communication strategies during organizational changes.
β’ Aid in consultation and negotiation processes, ensuring that agreed-upon actions are carried out.
β’ Collaborate with employment attorneys to ensure legal compliance and translate legal guidance into actionable recommendations.
β’ Keep track of developments in employment law and manage associated legal, financial, and reputational risks.
β’ Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, People partners, and the Legal department.
β’ Enhance the capabilities of managers and People teams through guidance, training, and coaching.
β’ Set standards for case management, governance, and reporting.
β’ Utilize case data and employee insights to uncover trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
β’ Extensive senior-level experience in employee relations, employment law, HR, or a related field.
β’ Proven experience in defining and implementing an employee relations strategy or operational model.
β’ In-depth knowledge of performance management, investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures, organizational change, and dispute resolution.
β’ Experience collaborating with works councils, employee representatives, or trade unions, preferably across various jurisdictions.
β’ Strong understanding of employment law and experience working with internal or external legal advisors.
β’ Good judgment with the ability to balance legal risks, employee experience, organizational values, and commercial objectives.
β’ Excellent influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
β’ Comfortable working both strategically and practically with complex cases.
β’ Experience in leading a team or specialized function is preferred.
