This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Africa.
• Take ownership of every launch from the moment a contract is signed until the site is certified and operational.
• Oversee multiple launch teams across various African nations.
• Manage launch programs in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire, coordinating land acquisition, permits, construction, power supply, recruitment, training, commissioning, and site handover.
• Execute the inaugural Precision Delivery launch in Kigali, implementing go/no-go gates and managing engineering dependencies.
• Ensure the timely execution of launches, maintaining quality standards and intervening when schedules are at risk.
• Develop and standardize the deployment playbook along with the essential bill of materials.
• Strategically plan customs, spare parts, and power management for each country involved.
• Complete site handovers through documented acceptance gates and manage defects during the initial 90 days.
• Build and direct a dynamic team of full-time staff, in-country launch pods, and temporary labor.
• Recruit, nurture, and reassign leadership talent as project phases evolve.
• Collaborate with Country Directors, governmental bodies, regulators, contractors, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering teams.
• Report directly to the Head of Operations for Africa.
• 12–15+ years of experience in managing large-scale multi-site infrastructure or network construction programs.
• Practical experience in building operations in Africa, including land acquisition, permits, customs, power management, contractor relations, and government interactions.
• Experience in West Africa is particularly advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent builds within contractual deadlines.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing a consistent deployment playbook across multiple sites.
• Sufficiently senior to set strategic direction and lead other leaders, while being hands-on enough to resolve site-level challenges.
• Comfortable managing an organization that adjusts in size according to the launch pipeline.
• Strong instincts in program and project management, effectively directing workstreams across teams that may not be directly supervised.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
• Proven success in aligning senior commercial leaders around a cohesive plan while maintaining quality under pressure.
