
Head of Data Strategy – Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Take ownership of and enhance our governance practice, including frameworks, artefacts, and the operating models we propose to clients. This encompasses data ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage, classification, retention, access, and the specific regulatory requirements related to health and social care in Ireland and the UK.
• Develop and direct our engagement methodology, guiding projects from initial discovery and workshops through to strategic implementation and delivery.
• Oversee the change management aspect of client projects: engaging stakeholders, fostering adoption, improving data literacy, establishing governance committees, and implementing changes to operating models.
• Recruit and develop a team of consultants and analysts to execute this work across both markets.
• Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors, Data Protection Officers (DPOs), Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Heads of Quality and Regulation, and board members, nurturing relationships that position Stalis as a long-term collaborator.
• You have led or designed comprehensive data governance programs from start to finish, including operating models, committee structures, role definitions, tooling selections, and change management processes.
• You possess experience with either the Irish or UK regulatory frameworks governing health and social care data, and you are capable of formulating and implementing a plan to achieve competence and credibility in the other market within a year.
• You have a proven history of building and managing delivery teams and methodologies, whether in consultancy, advisory roles, or internal transformation initiatives.
• You demonstrate senior-level client engagement capabilities: comfortable interacting with executives and boards while also being credible with technical and regulatory experts.
