Head of Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Strategy Execution: Spearhead the execution of data strategy, demonstrating leadership through hands-on involvement.

• Data Foundations: Design and establish a single source of truth for key business entities while implementing processes to ensure robust data foundations.

• Data Products: Create data products that facilitate controlled, self-service access to data.

• Leadership: Guide and mentor the data team, cultivating a culture that values high performance and innovation.

• Governance & Quality: Oversee data quality and governance within an FCA-regulated environment, ensuring the integrity of audit trails.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Salesforce team to manage Salesforce data models and maintain comprehensive governance.

• Technical Alignment: Partner with the VP of Engineering to align with broader technical strategies and business goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Leadership Experience: Demonstrated history of leading data projects in dynamic environments.

• Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, and contemporary data ingestion/transformation methodologies.

• Tooling: Familiarity with Looker, dbt, and Python.

• Data Science: Capability to develop Machine Learning models alongside the necessary supporting infrastructure.

• Architecture: Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns and real-time data infrastructures.

• AI & Automation: Understanding of AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) and analytics agents.

• Methodology: Strong foundation in Agile methodologies and Git for version control.

• Soft Skills: Exceptional people management, coaching, and communication abilities, with capacity to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
