Head of Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• You are responsible for managing the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion to delivery.

• You provide the platform engineering team with clean, well-documented data.

• You oversee the budget for the data function, including vendors, infrastructure, and tools.

• You will build and maintain crawlers, API integrations, and vendor data feeds.

• You will monitor the reliability of data collection processes.

• You will onboard new data sources within designated timelines.

• You will manage the complete data pipeline, from raw data to production.

• You will implement automated quality assurance at each stage.

• You will maintain schema integrity in BigQuery (primary), PostgreSQL, and regional databases (China).

• You will ensure that downstream consumers, including the MCP/AI layer, receive consistent, queryable, and documented datasets.

• You will document every transformation rule, edge case, and business logic decision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in SQL (BigQuery preferred).

• Experience with Python for orchestrating pipelines, performing transformations, and validating data.

• Expertise in data modeling and schema design for multi-source, multi-market datasets.

• Knowledge in web scraping, crawler development, and API integrations.

• Experience with entity resolution and deduplication across diverse data sources.

• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools (such as Claude Code, Copilot, or equivalent).

• You take complete ownership of your responsibilities and work independently.

• You can identify gaps in pipeline coverage and address them systematically.

• You document extensively because systems without documentation are unreliable.

• You prioritize data quality as essential, having learned from past experiences with poor data.
