This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia, +3 more countries.
• Establish and oversee team.blue’s central Compliance function within the group legal framework.
• Lead and mentor Privacy Counsels, AI Counsels, and the overarching compliance risk-monitoring and assurance team.
• Serve as a primary advisory entity integrated within group legal, collaborating with legal and business teams.
• Facilitate the practical application of regulatory requirements across various business lines.
• Utilize a risk-based strategy to prioritize compliance initiatives across different brands and jurisdictions.
• Manage the group's compliance agenda concerning GDPR, the AI Act, the Data Act, DORA, and NIS2.
• Centrally oversee the implementation of the group’s Digital Services Act standards.
• Establish group standards, policies, and playbooks, and implement them through self-service templates and Legal Hub automation.
• Anticipate forthcoming EU digital regulations and evaluate their operational impact across the portfolio.
• Oversee or coordinate matters related to sanctions, AML, conflicts of interest, third-party risk management, fraud, consumer protection, and business integrity.
• Maintain independent judgment and provide impartial oversight on escalations.
• Manage ongoing compliance risk monitoring, assurance, regulatory oversight, and action driven by the compliance register.
• Guide the function using key performance indicators such as maturity, awareness, self-serve adoption, response time, and residual risk.
• Collaborate with divisional General Counsels to embed compliance throughout business lines.
• Cultivate a culture of compliance and empower local counsels and non-legal teams to utilize self-service options.
• Advise senior leadership and divisional GCs on compliance risks and regulatory exposure.
• Partner with the Sustainability Director on the digital-trust agenda and commitments to responsible technology.
• Must be a qualified lawyer.
• Demonstrated seniority at the managerial level.
• Proven experience in an internal compliance capacity, preferably in the non-financial (1LOD advisory) sector rather than a regulated financial services (2LOD control) function.
• This position is focused on operational, implementation-driven compliance leadership rather than a transactional legal role.
• Experience in an international or multi-jurisdictional context is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with IT- and data-related legislation, including GDPR, AI Act, Data Act, DSA, DORA, and NIS2.
• Must be genuinely tech-savvy from an operational perspective; this is a critical requirement.
• Proficient in risk-based, self-service, and automation-oriented work methodologies.
• Capable of prioritizing and leading a comprehensive, multi-faceted compliance agenda across a decentralized organization.
• Fluent in English.
• Proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.
• Ability to lead through influence and guide counsels not directly under management.
• Strong communication skills and credibility among legal, business, and leadership stakeholders.
• High personal integrity and the capacity to maintain an independent stance when necessary.
