Head of AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish and take ownership of BCD’s enterprise AI strategy and multi-year roadmap.

• Create and lead an AI Centre of Excellence.

• Recruit and nurture engineers, solution architects, and enablement personnel.

• Set standards for model selection, prompt/agent design, evaluation, and responsible AI/risk management.

• Oversee the shared AI platform strategy, encompassing governance of the MCP/data layer.

• Collaborate with the AI Leadership Council, provide progress updates, and address risks or resource shortages.

• Create and manage a network of embedded AI champions throughout business functions.

• Manage relationships with vendors and partners.

• Define and communicate enterprise-wide AI KPIs to the executive team and board as necessary.

• Advocate for change management and training aimed at promoting embedded workflow adoption.

• Assist engineering teams in integrating AI into BCD products, including Tripsource.

• Direct the development, deployment, and adoption of an enterprise AI-SDLC framework.

• Build AI capabilities from the ground up and transform AI into a strategic business advantage.

• Collaborate with leaders, practitioners, AI champions, technology teams, and business stakeholders across various continents.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of leadership experience in technology or digital transformation.

• At least 3 years of experience leading AI, machine learning, or data science initiatives on an enterprise level.

• Experience as a founder or in early-stage startups is essential.

• Demonstrated ability to build new capabilities from scratch in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment.

• Proven experience in establishing or scaling a Centre of Excellence, platform team, or federated operating model within a large, multi-country organization.

• Successful track record of converting AI initiatives into quantifiable productivity or revenue results.

• Strong understanding of enterprise AI governance, data privacy, model risk, and responsible AI practices.

• Experience in a regulated or data-sensitive environment.

• Familiarity with agentic AI, LLM-based tools, or integration frameworks like MCP.

• Executive presence when interacting with C-suite and travel/operations stakeholders.

• Exceptional executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
