
Hardware Engineer – Data Center Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.
• Execute firmware updates and manage the lifecycle of server hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to hardware and infrastructure (servers, components, connectivity).
• Assist in the provisioning and decommissioning of bare metal servers.
• Utilize out-of-band management interfaces (IPMI / iDRAC / iLO or similar).
• Implement and uphold hardware configuration standards and profiles.
• Engage in incident response and conduct root cause analysis.
• Aid in the creation of operational processes and documentation (SOPs).
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and DevOps teams.
• Take part in the evaluation and selection of hardware configurations (CPU, RAM, storage, components).
• Contribute to scaling infrastructure and standardizing hardware.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Practical experience with server hardware in production settings.
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure principles.
• Familiarity with hardware lifecycle management (firmware, components, replacements).
• Experience with out-of-band management tools (IPMI / iDRAC / iLO or similar).
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience in producing technical documentation or operational procedures.
• Willingness to engage in on-call rotations.
• Understanding of server hardware configurations and component selection.
• Experience or interest in contributing to infrastructure design and scaling decisions.
• Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals (L2/L3).
• Nice to have: Experience with large-scale environments (500+ servers).
• Nice to have: Experience in OpenStack environments.
• Nice to have: Experience using CMDB / DCIM tools (e.g., Snipe-It, NetBox, Device42, etc.).
• Nice to have: Experience with automation (scripts, APIs).
• Nice to have: Experience collaborating with various hardware vendors (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar).
