This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.
• Execute firmware updates and manage the lifecycle of server hardware.
• Diagnose issues related to hardware and infrastructure, including servers, components, and connectivity.
• Assist in the provisioning and decommissioning of bare metal servers.
• Utilize out-of-band management interfaces such as IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, or similar.
• Implement and uphold hardware configuration standards and profiles.
• Engage in incident response and conduct root cause analysis.
• Aid in the development of operational processes and documentation (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Work collaboratively with infrastructure, networking, and DevOps teams.
• Take part in the assessment and selection of hardware configurations including CPU, RAM, storage, and components.
• Assist in scaling infrastructure and standardizing hardware.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Practical experience with server hardware in live production settings.
• Knowledge of fundamental data center infrastructure principles.
• Experience in hardware lifecycle management, including firmware updates, component replacements, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with out-of-band management tools such as IPMI, iDRAC, iLO, or similar.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience in drafting technical documentation or operational procedures.
• Willingness to engage in on-call rotations.
• Understanding of server hardware configurations and the selection of components.
• Experience or interest in contributing to decisions regarding infrastructure design and scaling.
• Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals, including Layer 2 and Layer 3.
• Nice to have: Experience in large-scale environments with over 500 servers.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with OpenStack environments.
• Nice to have: Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) or Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools, such as Snipe-It, NetBox, or Device42.
• Nice to have: Experience with automation through scripts or APIs.
• Nice to have: Experience working with various hardware vendors, including Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar.
