This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product roadmap for AI and clinical intelligence functionalities, ensuring alignment with clinical outcomes objectives, company strategy, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers to define, prioritize, and deliver models and features — converting clinical needs into technical specifications while translating technical limitations back into clinically viable product choices.
• Work together with clinical leadership (therapists, dietitians, medical professionals) to guarantee that AI-assisted tools adhere to top-tier eating disorder treatment methods and do not pose clinical risks.
• Establish and manage responsible AI practices for clinical applications, including model evaluation criteria, human-in-the-loop safeguards, escalation paths, and monitoring for bias/safety suitable for a clinically sensitive demographic.
• Develop and oversee analytics and evaluation frameworks that assess model performance, clinical impact, and patient/provider trust — going beyond mere usage metrics.
• Steer AI product development through the entire lifecycle: problem identification, model/vendor assessment, prototyping, clinical validation, launch, and iterative improvements.
• Interpret healthcare regulations and compliance necessities (HIPAA, informed consent, clinical documentation standards) into product and model specifications.
• Conduct research involving patients, providers, and clinical staff to pinpoint where AI can responsibly alleviate burdens or enhance care, as well as areas where it should not be implemented.
• Communicate AI product strategy, risk factors, and outcomes to executive leadership, clinical leadership, and the board as necessary.
• Mentor and possibly expand a small team of PMs dedicated to AI/clinical intelligence initiatives.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• Over 8 years of experience in product management, with substantial AI/ML exposure in regulated or clinically sensitive areas.
• Strong technical understanding of AI/ML (e.g., model evaluation, RAG, guardrails) to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Proven experience in developing products for clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, clinical decision support standards).
• Ability to navigate uncertainty to establish AI guardrails in clinical environments.
• Capability to lead cross-functional teams and translate requirements among clinical, technical, and executive stakeholders.
• Data-driven mindset focused on assessing product performance, clinical impact, and safety outcomes.
