Grassroots Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develops and executes comprehensive grassroots strategies and advocacy campaigns at local and state levels.

• Provides support for federal campaigns and cultivates congressional champions for the organization's issues.

• Organizes volunteer efforts to carry out federal activities in partnership with national teams.

• Communicates strategically with messages tailored to the specific political landscapes.

• Plans and oversees Cancer Action lobby days and similar events.

• Manages ACS CAN web pages and other social media platforms.

• Identifies and nurtures volunteers who have personal narratives related to ACS CAN’s policy initiatives.

• Acts as the staff manager for the volunteer framework within the assigned geographic area.

• Coordinates campaign efforts with grassroots and patient coalition partners.

• Accurately and effectively represents ACS CAN and its mission.

• Ensures compliance with IRS and ACS CAN legal and reporting standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.

• Strong preference for experience in political issues or campaign organizing.

• Preferred experience in attracting, developing, and engaging volunteers.

• Fundraising experience is advantageous.

• Familiarity with Salesforce, Every Action, or similar tools is a plus.

• Experience or knowledge of the fundamentals of Direct Action Organizing is beneficial.
