This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• **Responsibilities:**

• - Develop and implement shaders, graphic systems, and visual tools following guidance from the Design and Art teams, including the task owner.

• - Support the transition to new platforms while adhering to best practices related to engine and platform specifications.

• - Create production tools as necessary.

• - Assist in optimization efforts, particularly concerning graphics-related challenges, using profiling tools and coding best practices.

• - Write and test code, resolve bugs, and profile code for optimization as directed.

• - Adhere to engineering best practices, development workflows, and coding standards.

• - Take ownership of tasks and developed features, ensuring that they are maintainable and providing both technical and design leadership for assigned responsibilities.

• - Seek feedback on owned tasks, including through playtests, interactions with other Owls, and stakeholders.

• - Assess new XR hardware and contribute to R&D initiatives.

• - Work collaboratively with (or serve as) Owners to decompose large deliverables into smaller tasks and provide precise estimates to stakeholders.

• - Collaborate with Owls across departments to achieve task objectives and clarify code requirements.

• - Stay informed about the latest development practices for Unity and XR, sharing this knowledge with the team.

• - Mentor fellow Owls on graphics best practices through one-on-one discussions, coding explanations, code reviews, and documentation creation, among other methods.


⛳️ Requirements

• **Required Skills/Abilities:**

• - Exceptional attention to detail.

• - Strong, clear, and proactive communication skills across various disciplines and levels.

• - Extensive expertise in Unity Programming (C#, HLSL).

• - In-depth understanding of Unity’s Scriptable Render Pipeline and Universal Render Pipeline, as well as underlying rendering technologies such as Vulkan and OpenGL.

• - Proficiency in multiple programming languages (C++, Java, Python, etc.).

• - Advanced graphics optimization skills (Unity Profile, RenderDoc, hardware specifics).

• - Experience with XR platforms, tile-based renderers, and related technologies is highly preferred.

• **Required Education and Experience:**

• - High School Diploma or equivalent.

• - Over 7 years of graphics programming experience.

• - Solid understanding of all other areas within game development.

• **Preferred Education and Experience:**

• - More than 10 years of graphics programming experience.

• - An appreciation for puns (or at least the ability to groan at them).
