This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Assist in the complete lifecycle of NIGMS grant initiatives
• Oversee, coordinate, develop, and sustain annual grant portfolios
• Provide administrative assistance for the review of grant applications
• Examine annual progress reports and new grant submissions for adherence to policies and regulations
• Interpret and prepare guidance concerning statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Support grant programs, projects, reporting, and engagement with stakeholders
• Assess competing and non-competing grant applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Draft communications addressing administrative and management matters
• Liaise with grantee institutions, Program Officers, and Sponsored Research Administrators
• Maintain official grant documentation and upload electronic files into IMPAC II
• Create and revise spreadsheets, correspondence, template forms, terms packages, and reports
• Extract and analyze workload data from current systems
• Counsel staff, applicants, and grantees on grants administration and business management
• Assist with pre-award and post-award tasks, including the preparation of grant awards
• Compile documentation for selected grant applications
• Conduct administrative and financial evaluations
• Prepare and assess grant budgets for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness
• Address grant-related issues in collaboration with scientific, administrative, and grantee organization personnel
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
• Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening
• Must possess a bachelor's degree
• Relevant experience in grants management and proficiency in MS Office
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Work must be conducted in alignment with NIH, NIGMS, and HHS policies and procedures
• Collaboration with NIGMS staff is necessary
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
