This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
• Observe and identify issues related to project and staff collaboration, providing impact assessments to senior staff for management and mitigation.
• Contribute to research-based tasks, ensuring that the quality of output aligns with the standards applied in the local office.
• Collect, understand, and graphically represent Zoning Regulations, local regulatory frameworks, and urban design guidelines pertinent to operating regions.
• Accurately represent sites and project drawings at the correct scales.
• Under the guidance of senior staff, prepare a qualitative and quantitative set of diagrams and drawings that cover benchmark and precedent studies.
• Gather relevant design typologies related to project briefs for discussions with Senior Urban Designers regarding their significance.
• Assist in maintaining the office's physical and digital library of submitted projects, innovative urban design literature, and ideas.
• Analyze project briefs and sites, collaborating with peers to develop thorough site reviews and recommendations.
• Have acquired, or be on track to acquire, a foundational understanding of the attributes used in urban design projects.
• Translate and represent innovative design solutions using digital tools and personal skills.
• Facilitate internal workshops and produce summary outcome reports effectively.
• Graphically represent ideas and concepts, developing a visual narrative in a sequential format.
• Advocate for quality procedures and consistently apply self-checking methods before issuing information and drawings.
• Report any safety issues observed both within and outside the office during duties, including near misses.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or Urban Planning.
• Master’s degree in Urban Design or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• Proven track record of delivering urban design projects.
• Experience collaborating with clients and design and engineering disciplines on high-profile international urban development projects.
• Proficiency in Adobe Design Collection, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Rhino3D, Grasshopper, GIS, and other urban design and city planning software.
• Strong portfolio showcasing built work that demonstrates excellent technical skills.
