This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of electrical building services across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial projects.
• Aid in the creation of electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform electrical engineering calculations, such as lighting, cable sizing, load assessments, and other design computations under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Assist in developing systems for power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire detection and alarm, containment, and other building services.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary design teams to ensure coordinated designs and successful project outcomes.
• Participate in design team meetings, site surveys, inspections, and construction progress meetings to gain hands-on engineering experience.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, schedules, and various project documentation.
• Help review contractor submissions, address technical queries, and conduct site inspections during the construction phase.
• Ensure that designs comply with Irish Building Regulations, applicable industry standards, client specifications, and company quality procedures.
• Take responsibility for your professional growth by actively engaging in mentoring, technical training, and ongoing learning opportunities.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Strong technical skills and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in electrical building services design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, accompanied by meticulous attention to detail.
• A proactive mindset, eagerness to learn, and commitment to ongoing professional development.
• A full driving license and readiness to travel to project sites when necessary.
• Previous placement, internship, or work experience in a building services consultancy, M&E contractor, or electrical engineering setting (preferred).
• A foundational knowledge of electrical building services design principles, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, and fire detection and alarm systems (preferred).
• Familiarity with Irish Building Regulations and relevant electrical design standards, such as IS 10101, IS 3217, and IS 3218 (preferred).
