
Graduate College Admissions Coach – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Engage consistently with applicants to understand their needs, aspirations, and expectations regarding their graduate school admissions experience.
• Offer comprehensive counseling, featuring regular 60-minute advising sessions conducted via Zoom with each applicant.
• Monitor application deadlines and key educational milestones effectively.
• Delegate pertinent tasks between sessions to enhance applicant success.
• Address inquiries from applicants promptly.
• Efficiently and diligently oversee a group of graduate school candidates.
• Typical cohorts consist of 5 to 10 students at any given time.
• Facilitate applicant progress by delivering personalized advising tailored to each client’s geographic location, financial situation, academic and extracurricular goals, and long-term plans.
• Conduct research as necessary to support advising sessions, clarify inquiries, or provide valuable information/resources to applicants.
• Guide applicants in exploring, researching, and selecting a diverse college list that aligns with their academic, professional, and personal interests.
• Provide strategic and forward-thinking advice and guidance, ensuring expertise and current knowledge on the admissions challenges they encounter.
• Mentor applicants throughout the writing process for statements of purpose, supplemental essays, résumés, etc., assisting them in identifying their personal narrative and delivering meaningful, actionable feedback on their materials.
• Offer interview preparation and support during the application process.
• Participate in biweekly meetings with 6-8 other Prepory coaches overseen by your Lead Coach mentor.
• Act as an additional reader in our Committee Review.
• Maintain detailed communication with the Program Director and Director of Client Success to provide ongoing updates on student progress.
• Prior admissions experience at an accredited graduate institution is highly preferred.
• Must have graduated from or worked at a top-tier graduate school and/or a top 50 undergraduate institution.
• In-depth understanding of the U.S. and UK graduate application processes, ideally across a range of programs including master’s and doctoral degrees in various fields.
• Awareness of trends in graduate education, graduate school rankings, and admissions priorities such as DEI, GPA/GRE balance, and experiential qualifications.
• Experience in an educational or academic support capacity, including advising, teaching, research, counseling, or academic coaching.
• Capability to manage and mentor multiple applicants throughout a competitive admissions cycle, providing guidance tailored to each client’s profile and objectives.
• Availability during evenings and weekends, with the flexibility to accommodate students in different time zones, including international candidates.
• Strong organizational abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the capacity to track deadlines, document submissions, and evolving application materials.
• Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills, particularly in reviewing and offering feedback on personal statements, optional essays, and résumés.
• Commitment to supporting students throughout the entire graduate school application cycle, including school list creation, essay review, and interview preparation.
