This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Serve as the Ministry Representative and oversee construction contract administration for designated projects.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to contract documents, specifications, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Plan, organize, and supervise the day labor construction teams, including the recruitment of labor, equipment, and materials.
• Manage project budgets by estimating, tracking, forecasting costs, and certifying quantities for payment.
• Lead and document preconstruction and construction meetings while preparing regular project status and expenditure reports.
• Resolve or assist in the resolution of construction claims, disputes, and contentious issues in partnership with project managers and clients.
• Ensure the implementation of quality management systems, encompassing quality control, quality assurance, and auditing activities.
• Guide and mentor field staff and consultants, promoting a collaborative and safety-oriented team environment.
• Maintain precise project documentation, including diaries, records, and as-built/red-line drawings.
• Comprehend and adhere to the Binnie Safety Program along with all relevant safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Transportation, or Construction Engineering with at least two years of relevant experience; OR a technical diploma with a minimum of four years of related experience; OR a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent.
• Significant experience supervising field personnel and managing construction contracts and resources.
• Proven track record in delivering complex highway or transportation infrastructure construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTT) Standard Specifications and contract administration procedures.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar construction budgets and timelines.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents effectively.
• Excellent conflict resolution, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and construction inspection methodologies.
• Solid understanding of construction surveying, quantities, and digital terrain models (experience with Civil 3D / CAiCE is a plus).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar desktop productivity applications.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, travel across British Columbia, and work away from home as project needs arise.
• Valid driver’s license.
