GPS-NMP Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Acquire insights into the functions of NMP and GPS and their connection to business expansion.

• Learn, formulate, execute, and uphold nutrient management plans that meet the NRCS Code 590 Nutrient Management or other regulatory standards.

• Manage and coordinate the GPS sampling and data collection operations facilitated by AgSource.

• Keep thorough records of field data and samples gathered.

• Create maps and files as per client specifications.

• Possess or pursue CCA certification and stay informed about industry trends relevant to your role.

• Provide constructive feedback to the GPS/NMP Supervisor regarding client interactions and remain accountable for the GPS/NMP team’s goals and objectives.

• Oversee supplies and the upkeep and repairs of all GPS field unit equipment.

• Encourage and comply with workplace safety protocols.

• Utilize personal protective and safety gear as necessary.

• Adhere to safe working procedures and promptly report hazardous conditions and injuries.

• Engage in safety meetings and safety committees.

• Foster and sustain positive working relationships with dealers, extension staff, and other agribusiness representatives.

• Perform additional duties and assume further responsibilities as assigned.

• Capability to work autonomously, be self-driven, and possess strong time management abilities.

• Proficient in computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel and Word.

• Proven ability to transfer electronic records across devices and applications.

• Ability to analyze data and make sound technical correlations concerning animal health and herd performance.

• Effective communication skills with colleagues, farm management, and labor in English.

• An entrepreneurial mindset to enhance AgSource services and draw in new member herds within the service area.
