This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Developing and implementing strategies, pipeline initiatives, and other activities aimed at securing new business within the US Government sector.
• Positioning the organization as a crucial partner across various markets, enhancing its reputation with both clients and collaborative partners.
• Taking ownership of the creation and execution of an account strategy and pipeline, including making necessary recommendations for adjustments.
• Identifying opportunities with significant probability of winning (Pwin), qualifying these opportunities, and collaborating with Operations staff to secure new contracts.
• Supervising the creation and execution of customer call plans for opportunities, evaluating the competitive landscape, and utilizing insights on leading competitors to develop a unique and effective win strategy.
• Mentoring colleagues and providing business development guidance to delivery leads when needed; assisting in the negotiation of teaming agreements, contracts, and proposal development.
• Crafting and presenting bid/no bid recommendations, along with pursuit and capture strategies for new business opportunities.
• Employing strong client management skills, enabling the development and maintenance of lasting relationships with Government and industry stakeholders through daily interactions across all markets to gather valuable insights, thereby positioning the organization as a trusted partner for customers.
• Managing responses to inquiries from the government market research (RFIs, sources sought notices, etc.).
• Influencing acquisition strategies through leveraging client relationships, company capabilities and expertise, as well as partners.
• A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory.
• Proven track record of successful business development with US Government clientele.
• Prior operational experience across various sectors and a solid understanding of IT and cyber mission areas and mission support services.
• Familiarity with US Government clients and a comprehensive understanding of commands, mission areas, and sectors.
• Over 10 years of experience in business development and/or capture, demonstrating success in developing a qualified new business pipeline and securing new contracts.
• Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, policies, and contract vehicles is highly preferred.
• Experience with 8a businesses, SWaM businesses, direct awards, sole source awards, and full and open pursuits is a significant advantage.
• A current secret clearance or higher is desirable, but not mandatory (Top Secret sponsorship available).
• Capability to identify key growth areas and cultivate new business in alignment with the company’s growth strategy.
• Understanding of government contracting, current acquisition trends, and customer purchasing behaviors.
• Awareness of competitors and the ability to analyze competitor behavior in the market.
• Strong skills in contract management, negotiation, and influence.
• Proficiency in presenting and communicating effectively at senior levels.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Willingness to travel up to 20 percent of the time or as business needs dictate.
