This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• Develop and implement a thorough government affairs strategy that aligns with the objectives of Serve Robotics and ensure its successful execution.
• Serve as the primary contact for stakeholder engagement and issue management during community meetings, including town halls and regulatory hearings.
• Collaborate with functional and technical team members as necessary.
• Monitor and assess regulatory sentiment, concerns, and feedback, working alongside the Policy team to create proactive strategies to address issues and maintain strong relationships.
• Establish and nurture connections with external stakeholders, including local elected officials, industry coalitions, community partners, regulatory bodies, and neighboring landowners within Serve Robotics markets.
• Maintain an internal government affairs database, ensuring that all contacts and activities are documented and generating reports as needed.
• Represent the organization at government meetings, events, and forums, acting as a spokesperson and advocate for Serve Robotics' operations.
• Create and deliver written and oral communications regarding Serve Robotics operations for public dissemination, including one-pagers, town halls, public testimony, and more.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on government affairs activities, outcomes, key performance indicators, and the development and performance of the government affairs team.
• Over 4 years of experience in government relations, public policy, political organizing, legislative staffing, public affairs, or a related field.
• More than 2 years of experience collaborating with policymakers from various political parties.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of legislative cycles, processes, operations, best practices, strategies, workflows, and stakeholder correspondence.
• Experience in managing consulting teams and lobbyists.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare briefing documents, analyses, policy and legislative recommendations, correspondence, requests for information, and other legislative documents.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including experience speaking at conferences and attending/staffing official engagements, events, meetings, and travel.
• Proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including executives, and build effective relationships.
• Demonstrated success in crafting and executing government relations strategies, preferably within the tech or micromobility sectors.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and foster consensus.
• Proficient in establishing clear objectives and achieving them, with the capability to measure and communicate the impact of government relations initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with business operations, financial, and legal team members.
• Willingness to travel 40% of the time.
• Background in high-growth, fast-paced startups.
• A strong passion for efficiency, innovation, and robotics.
• Experience in risk management and compliance, with the capability to design and enforce policies.
• Proven track record of successful cross-functional collaboration with internal teams (e.g., engineering, product) and external partners.
• Established leadership in project ownership and team management.
