• Collaborate with T&A, Payroll Operations, Product, and Implementation teams to incorporate country-specific labor law requirements (such as working time regulations, overtime rules, rest periods, collective bargaining agreements, and statutory accruals) into system design and configuration.
• Ensure compliance reviews are integrated within project lifecycles, covering requirements gathering, configuration validation, testing, and go-live readiness.
• Promote the importance of embedding compliance from the beginning instead of addressing it post-implementation.
• Work alongside country compliance and legal experts to interpret statutory obligations (including maximum working hours, mandatory breaks, overtime calculations, accrual logic, and record retention).
• Convert legislative requirements into precise system configuration rules, technical specifications, and operational controls.
• Transform complex legal language into actionable requirements that Product and Operations teams can consistently implement.
• Act as the primary compliance contact for all T&A-related initiatives, ensuring alignment between Compliance, Product, Payroll Operations, and Implementation teams.
• Establish governance checkpoints and review processes to maintain regulatory alignment without hindering delivery timelines.
• Define global standards while accommodating specific legal requirements of different countries.
• Identify compliance gaps or control weaknesses proactively to prevent operational or regulatory exposure.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to assess potential impacts.
• Recommend practical corrective actions, prioritize remediation efforts, and escalate significant risks when necessary.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests concerning Time & Attendance systems and processes.
• Partner with country compliance experts and operational stakeholders to gather thorough, accurate, and defensible documentation.
• Ensure timely delivery of audit evidence and control documentation.
• Track remediation actions resulting from audit findings until closure.
• Develop and maintain T&A compliance documentation, including control narratives, process maps, risk registers, and change logs.
• Establish documentation standards that ensure processes are transparent, traceable, and ready for audits across all operating countries.
• Ensure compliance impact assessments are integrated into system and process change management.
• Hands-on experience with global payroll Time & Attendance systems (such as Workday Time Tracking, UKG, ADP, Ceridian Dayforce) across various jurisdictions.
• Strong understanding of T&A compliance requirements, including working time directives, overtime calculations, rest period enforcement, accrual methodologies, and statutory record-keeping obligations.
• Knowledge of how collective bargaining agreements affect T&A configuration and operational processing.
• Ability to translate functional requirements into scalable system controls.
• Capability to interpret labor legislation and convert statutory requirements into operational controls and system functionality.
• Experience in coordinating audit responses and preparing compliance documentation for regulatory or internal review.
• Proven track record of identifying and mitigating compliance risks in multi-country settings.
• Comfortable operating in regulated environments where accuracy and defensible documentation are crucial.
• Strong project management skills, with experience embedding compliance into agile or hybrid delivery frameworks.
• Ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Operations, Implementation, Legal, Compliance) without direct authority.
• Experience in establishing governance structures that balance risk management with business enablement.
• Proficient in working effectively in complex, matrixed global organizations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to clarify complex regulatory requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in creating structured documentation that can withstand audit and regulatory scrutiny.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with country-based compliance experts and global stakeholders across different time zones.
