Global SEO Manager – Multi-Country, eCommerce

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the organic growth strategy for eCommerce stores and associated sites across multiple countries.

• Establish site and market roles to prevent cannibalization and enhance coverage.

• Implement and oversee hreflang, canonical rules, internal linking, and localization strategies.

• Develop scalable "winner" frameworks to replicate successful content and page structures in various markets.

• Audit and enhance crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, site speed, redirects, and duplicate content issues.

• Manage Shopify SEO fundamentals such as collections, filters/facets, pagination, thin pages, and control of index bloat.

• Implement and validate structured data (Product, FAQ, HowTo, Review, Organization).

• Create development-ready tickets, coordinate fixes, conduct quality assurance on implementations, and verify outcomes.

• Develop keyword strategies and SEO-driven site architecture (collections, category hubs, comparisons, guides).

• Oversee editorial planning, content briefs, publishing workflows, and content refresh cycles.

• Ensure content meets local search intent, terminology, seasonality, and competitive landscapes.

• Create SEO launch playbooks for new products and collections.

• Execute sustainable link acquisition strategies through outreach, partnerships, features, and resource placements.

• Reclaim unlinked mentions and foster long-term relationships with publishers.

• Define and monitor authority targets directly linked to rankings and revenue impact.

• Keep track of backlink health and identify toxic or risky patterns.

• Implement cleanup strategies, including link removals and disavowals when necessary.

• Maintain anchor text balance, velocity awareness, and documentation of all actions taken.

• Create source-of-truth pages tailored for AI citation (FAQs, specs, comparisons, definitions).

• Strengthen entity signals by ensuring consistent brand and product information across reliable sources.

• Publish structured, reference-ready content suitable for AI-driven search systems.

• Monitor AI visibility through citations, mentions, branded queries, and SERP feature presence.

• Maintain weekly KPI dashboards (organic traffic, rankings, index coverage, backlinks, site health).

• Provide monthly organic performance reviews including revenue and market-level insights.

• Identify changes, diagnose causes, and outline clear next steps.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in scaling **eCommerce SEO with quantifiable traffic and revenue growth**.

• Ability to implement SEO changes personally or generate development-ready tickets with QA responsibility.

• Proven experience in **multi-country SEO** (including hreflang, canonicals, and localization).

• Strong technical SEO skills encompassing audits, fixes, and deployment coordination.

• Real-world content strategy experience from research through to publishing and optimization.

• Established link-building and digital PR experience (without resorting to spam or shortcuts).

• Experience in backlink risk management, including toxic link cleanup and disavow strategies.

• Strong analytical skills utilizing GSC, GA4, and keyword tracking tools.

• Tools & Skills

• Expert level proficiency in Google Search Console.

• Familiarity with GA4 for SEO performance and attribution validation.

• Experience with Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar tools.

• Proficient with Screaming Frog or comparable technical audit tools.

• Experience in Shopify SEO (themes, collections, and basic structured data).

• Nice to Have

• International SEO experience across several English-speaking markets.

• Experience with EU or multi-region expansion.

• Digital PR connections in eCommerce, automotive, tools, or blue-collar sectors.

• Advanced skills in schema, entity optimization, and knowledge graph experience.

• Experience in managing writers and editorial production systems.
