This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of the Global medical affairs strategy for Chronic Weight Management.
• Collaborate with the Global Medical Asset Lead to design and execute the global medical affairs strategy through pre-launch, launch, and post-launch stages.
• Provide medical insights into product lifecycle management, launch readiness, data generation, evidence dissemination, and long-term asset strategy.
• Identify gaps in scientific evidence and contribute to global evidence generation plans, which include real-world evidence, investigator-sponsored research, and publication strategies.
• Lead the interpretation, communication, and application of clinical and scientific data to support medical, regulatory, and cross-functional decision-making.
• Act as a representative for Medical Affairs on cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Regulatory, HEOR/RWE, Commercial, Market Access, and Scientific Communications.
• Extract medical insights from healthcare professionals, external experts, and scientific exchange activities, translating these into strategic recommendations.
• Cultivate relationships with thought leaders, investigators, professional societies, advocacy groups, and payer stakeholders.
• Assist in publication planning and scientific communications, which encompass congress strategy, abstracts, manuscripts, scientific platforms, and medical education.
• Support clinical development activities through input on study design, protocol review, data interpretation, and the communication of study outcomes.
• Offer medical leadership for advisory boards, expert panels, investigator meetings, and scientific engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Safety to conduct benefit-risk assessments, labeling, and risk management.
• Review and provide medical oversight for both promotional and non-promotional materials.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in obesity and related cardiometabolic diseases.
• Lead matrix teams and influence stakeholders across various functions.
• Ensure that medical affairs activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Doctorate degree with 4 years of medical affairs experience, Master’s degree with 8 years, or Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience managing teams, projects, programs, or directing resource allocations.
• MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD with substantial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry in Medical Affairs is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge in obesity, chronic weight management, and/or cardiometabolic diseases is preferred.
• Experience in supporting global medical affairs strategies throughout development, launch, and post-launch commercialization is preferred.
• Background in contributing to product launches or initiatives focused on launch readiness is preferred.
• Experience in developing and executing evidence generation strategies, including real-world evidence, observational research, and investigator-sponsored studies is preferred.
• Strong understanding of incretin-based therapies, such as GLP-1, GIP, and multi-agonist therapies is preferred.
• Proven experience leading global cross-functional initiatives is preferred.
• Experience in engaging with global key opinion leaders, investigators, professional societies, advocacy organizations, and payer stakeholders is preferred.
• Strong background in publication and scientific communication is preferred.
• Ability to influence without authority and lead within complex matrix organizations is preferred.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical product development, lifecycle management, and commercialization processes is preferred.
• Knowledge of global regulatory requirements, GCP, and industry compliance standards is preferred.
• Strong strategic thinking abilities, business acumen, and problem-solving skills are preferred.
