This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Formulate the strategic approach for the global healthcare segment, encompassing vision, value proposition, and a three-year growth plan.
• Identify areas where Hitachi can distinctly differentiate itself within designated market segments, leveraging existing capabilities that integrate IT and OT.
• Analyze Hitachi’s current standing in comparison to key competitors; pinpoint differentiators grounded in digital operations (AIOps).
• Collaborate with the GM&S Market Strategy and Intelligence team to interpret market, regulatory, technological, and customer trends into actionable insights and opportunities for Hitachi.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Hitachi’s competitive landscape and identify capability gaps, whitespace, and strategic adjacencies.
• Offer external thought leadership through analyst briefings, conferences, and executive councils to position Hitachi as the preferred partner in next-generation healthcare development.
• Own and continuously refine the market positioning of Hitachi for Healthcare.
• Drive market segmentation and prioritization, defining region-specific strategies.
• Assist Hitachi in forging key executive relationships with leaders in pharmaceutical and biotechnology development, as well as within the healthcare provider ecosystem and other critical players in the healthcare value chain.
• Establish customer advisory boards to validate solution roadmaps.
• Support cross-Hitachi solution development by providing market intelligence and customer validation, aiding SSIB with insights, incubation, and proof of concept projects, and proposing commercialization models for successful innovations that integrate OT scaling in medtech with digital and AI (AIOps) for improved patient outcomes (e.g., predictive diagnostics) and operational optimization, including R&D and manufacturing scale-up.
• Develop the global go-to-market (GTM) strategy (offers, partnerships, marketing), including segment-specific initiatives.
• Equip regional and cross-business unit growth teams with playbooks, competitive battlecards, and reference architectures; oversee pipeline governance and win room practices.
• Create frameworks for pursuit initiatives.
• Assist Hitachi in building a partnership ecosystem encompassing production technology, diagnostic and treatment systems, power systems, manufacturing, software, and services.
• Facilitate collaborative innovation roadmaps with customers and partners.
• Build a matrixed, high-performing virtual team across regions and business units; mentor for segment excellence.
• Advocate for safety and integrity as foundational values; exemplify inclusivity and cross-cultural collaboration.
• Mastery in the healthcare domain, particularly in biopharma, diagnostics, and cancer treatment and prevention, with a proven history of influencing C-suite decisions.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing segment strategies and scaling integrated OT×IT solution portfolios.
• Profound understanding of market drivers and customer needs, with the ability to discern implications for Hitachi.
• Strong commercial acumen, including experience in multi-stakeholder complex deal structuring, partner-led sales, and outcome-based contracting.
• Exceptional executive communication skills; a proven track record of influencing across diverse cultures and time zones. Experience leading discussion panels and presenting at industry events.
• Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are a plus.
