Global Commodity Manager – PCB

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create and implement a comprehensive global PCB commodity strategy that aligns with NEOTech’s operational and financial goals.

• Oversee and strategically cultivate a worldwide PCB supplier network spanning North America, Asia-Pacific, and other essential regions.

• Promote dual sourcing, supplier diversification, risk management, and initiatives to ensure supply continuity.

• Identify, assess, qualify, and nurture PCB suppliers for intricate Build-to-Print projects.

• Formulate sourcing strategies for prototypes, quick-turn requests, production, and high-complexity PCBs.

• Direct PCB RFI, RFQ, RFP, and competitive bidding processes.

• Evaluate quotations, cost factors, should-cost models, supplier benchmarks, and total ownership costs.

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, tooling, NRE, lead times, MOQ, capacity commitments, and commercial agreements.

• Spearhead annual PCB cost-reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.

• Examine market trends, raw material fluctuations, capacity limitations, tariffs, geopolitical risks, and supply chain disruptions.

• Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with long-lead-time and constrained PCB technologies.

• Act as the PCB commodity subject matter expert for Supply Chain and cross-functional teams.

• Collaborate with Engineering and suppliers on DFM, stack-up optimization, material selection, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.

• Assist in prototype, NPI, production ramp, and engineering-change initiatives.

• Address PCB quality concerns and drive corrective actions alongside Quality and Engineering teams.

• Maintain strategic supplier partnerships and oversee quality, delivery, lead time, capacity, cost, responsiveness, and service metrics.

• Conduct supplier business reviews, factory assessments, capability evaluations, and audits.

• Set and track supplier KPIs and corrective action initiatives.

• Report critical PCB shortages, quality challenges, capacity constraints, and delivery risks.

• Formulate long-term supplier capacity strategies that align with NEOTech’s demand.

• Present sourcing strategies, supplier selections, cost-reduction possibilities, capacity risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.

• Facilitate global standardization of PCB suppliers, specifications, pricing structures, commercial agreements, and payment terms.

• Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, specification optimization, cost avoidance, and global purchasing volume.

• Travel internationally up to 50% for supplier engagements, business reviews, factory audits, sourcing events, quality escalations, and supplier development.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.

• Over 10 years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or supplier development.

• Extensive experience with custom fabricated components or EMS-related manufacturing commodities.

• Proven experience in leading RFQ/RFP processes, supplier negotiations, and forming commercial agreements.

• Strong analytical and cost-modeling abilities, including TCO and market analysis.

• Familiarity with fabrication technologies, manufacturing procedures, materials, lead times, and supplier capabilities.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and supplier management skills.

• Willingness to travel globally as required by business needs, up to 50%.

• Capability to work collaboratively in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in ERP systems, Excel, and supply chain analytics tools.

• Significant experience in engineering purchasing, contract negotiations, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, master production scheduling, and technical procurement or planning with custom or electrical components.

• U.S. citizenship is required due to ITAR and/or CUI compliance.

• Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

• Preferred: experience in EMS, aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, or high-reliability manufacturing sectors.

• Preferred: knowledge of supplier qualification methodologies and manufacturing quality standards.

• Preferred: experience managing global suppliers across the U.S., Mexico, and Asia.

• Preferred: understanding of supply-chain risk mitigation and dual-sourcing strategies.

• Preferred: experience supporting BTP manufacturing operations.

• APICS, CPM, CPSM, or related certifications are preferred.
