This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Spearhead the signing of new business agreements and oversee the technical sales of gases, technologies, and equipment tailored for the glass and ceramic sectors.
• Provide insights to our applied research team to drive the development of new offerings for our gases, leveraging your knowledge of current and emerging industry processes, environmental challenges, and decarbonization initiatives within these sectors.
• Address customer technical challenges, assisting them in enhancing their operations, efficiency, and safety standards.
• Participate actively from the initial outreach through to startup and ongoing customer retention.
• Identify and cultivate new opportunities for industrial gas applications and equipment/technology sales within target industries.
• Concentrate on prospects that are operating in expanding markets and possess strong cost structures.
• Conduct audits of prospects and customer processes to pinpoint opportunities for more efficient use of industrial gases.
• Collaborate with marketing and lead generation teams to expand the opportunity pipeline.
• Formulate the scope and assist in executing technology demonstrations in the field, showcasing the advantages of industrial gases in customer melting and inerting processes.
• Assess and quantify the economic advantages of Air Products’ technologies related to increased production, improved product quality, utilization of lower-cost raw materials, fuel savings, and reduced emissions.
• Participate in trade associations, technical organizations, conferences, and local trade shows to present technical papers, promote technology, support marketing initiatives, network, and lead committees.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams in applied research, computational modeling, and marketing to create technical papers and marketing materials that highlight modeling or lab/field demonstration outcomes.
• Engage with external partners to deliver comprehensive solutions to the customer, as needed.
• BS/MS technical degree is preferred – (ideally in Engineering; an undergraduate business degree or MBA is a plus).
• A minimum of five years of experience in glass melting or glass/ceramic operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of container, float, or fiber glass melting, with knowledge of refractories, furnace design, and combustion systems also advantageous.
• Familiarity with industrial gases and oxy-fuel combustion is preferred.
• Experience in technical service, sales, or applications development is an advantage.
• Capability to work effectively across various functions and levels, both internally and externally.
