This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the geospatial data and tooling requirements for a large-scale initiative.
• Acquire geospatial data through various modalities.
• Develop geospatial data automation and tools within an AI/ML pipeline for innovative applications.
• Investigate and collect data for specific areas from diverse sources.
• Oversee the coverage, currency, quality, and cost of acquired data.
• Create and utilize automated tools to prepare data for AI/ML applications.
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams, as well as Pipeline and Product teams.
• A Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 4 years of pertinent industry experience in a dynamic, high-growth technology environment.
• Proficiency with GIS modalities and formats, including but not limited to orthoimagery (e.g., GeoTIFF), point clouds like LiDAR (e.g., LAS/LAZ), vector data (e.g., ESRI Shapefiles, GeoJSON, OSM), raster data for elevation and terrain information such as DTM, DSM, and DEMs, as well as raster data for land cover information.
• Experience in software engineering, particularly in the design and architecture of software systems.
• Proficient in Python for automating routine tasks and/or enhancing an existing toolset.
