GIS and Provisioning Product Manager – MSI CAD, RMS

📋 Description

• The product manager is responsible for advocating and overseeing the incorporation of advanced geospatial data and mapping functionalities within our essential CAD and RMS platforms, ensuring that dispatchers and field personnel experience a seamless, high-performance 'common operating picture'.

• This role involves analyzing the broader portfolio objectives and market dynamics to create a sustainable, differentiated roadmap that provides unique value, with a strong emphasis on integrating state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities into our offerings.

• Lead the product roadmap by prioritizing GIS features and AI-enhanced capabilities that deliver a competitive edge in public safety workflows.

• Recognize emerging market trends, particularly the utilization of AI and GenAI to improve geospatial data delivery and map upkeep.

• Formulate business cases for new initiatives, evaluating the ROI for AI/ML features that connect core data models with spatial visualization.

• Curate and advocate for innovative AI/ML features that transform public safety operations and foster long-term customer loyalty.

• Leverage generative AI and machine learning to enhance service efficiency and increase profitability of existing products.

• Gather and incorporate feedback from customers and field teams into the strategic planning process.

• Oversee the product roadmap, ensuring that features are well-defined, prioritized, and prepared for decomposition.

• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and Engineering leads to convert roadmap objectives into actionable technical specifications and development tasks.

• Manage trade-off discussions regarding scope, schedule, and technical quality.

• Ensure the team achieves a healthy equilibrium between delivering new features, managing technical debt, and optimizing GIS performance.

• Work alongside UI/UX and research teams to guarantee the ethical and intuitive implementation of AI-powered features within high-stress, mission-critical settings.

• Direct the integration of AI tools into GIS development workflows to automate the validation, maintenance, and quality assurance processes of geospatial data.

• Oversee GIS-specific release testing to ensure mapping accuracy and the performance of cached services.

• Define and support the implementation of training, support, and deployment requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, or a related technical field.

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Product Management, preferably with a focus on GIS or location-based services.

• Strong grasp of Product Management fundamentals.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

• Demonstrated experience in driving product strategy where AI concepts are effectively translated into clear, measurable business outcomes.

• Extensive technical knowledge of GIS software, spatial data formats, and geodatabase architecture, particularly within the ESRI ArcGIS framework.

• Comprehensive understanding of public safety mapping workflows (routing, AVL, address/location services) and the ability to apply cartographic design principles to convert complex data into intuitive interfaces suitable for high-pressure environments.

• Proficient in Agile development practices and tools (Jira/Confluence); experienced in backlog management and translating roadmap goals into technical specifications.

• Proven capability to build consensus among diverse, cross-functional stakeholders with a proactive, independent, and enthusiastic approach to addressing complex challenges.

• Familiarity with Python scripting/data automation; adept at analyzing market trends, financial data, and competitive intelligence to guide product direction.

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.

• This position requires working in high-security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and necessitates passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
