Geospatial Platform Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop the infrastructure behind the maps that serve an entire province.

• Design and manage the Government of Alberta’s enterprise GIS platform.

• Oversee the configuration, enhancement, and operation of enterprise geospatial technologies.

• Administer ArcGIS Enterprise and enterprise geodatabases.

• Create integrations, services, and deployment pipelines.

• Provide guidance on engineering choices and mentor team members.

• Leverage and adapt AI to offer more intelligent geospatial services.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• At least two (2) years of relevant experience in:

• Managing multi-tier enterprise GIS platforms and enterprise geodatabases (SQL Server or PostgreSQL/PostGIS).

• Overseeing the complete software development lifecycle for geospatial applications utilizing Python and JavaScript.

• Creating integration services and ETL pipelines for ingesting and publishing authoritative geospatial datasets.

• Streamlining platform administration through CI/CD, configuration management, and scripting.

• Providing production support for multi-tenant geospatial services.

• Implementing security measures for enterprise GIS platforms.

• Supporting high-availability and disaster recovery for enterprise GIS platforms.

• Applying AI within geospatial engineering and operations.

• Demonstrating strong teamwork abilities.

• Possessing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Experience in AI-enhanced GIS web application development is a plus.
