This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for the continuous upkeep and repair of both contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution systems.
• Offer technical assistance to clients regarding operational or maintenance queries.
• Engage in daily travel while working independently.
• Provide 24/7 “on-call” services as necessary, excluding periods of PTO or when off-call.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment under contract.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers.
• Relay availability status to the corporate office.
• Accurately and promptly complete all necessary paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other job-related documentation.
• Safeguard and maintain company-issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Execute battery installations and replacements.
• Oversee and coordinate all on-site subcontractors engaged by PSS as needed.
• Ensure that the company vehicle is kept in safe and operational condition.
• Possess and maintain a personal set of mechanical tools.
• A minimum of three years of field experience servicing generator systems is required for the Level II Technician position.
• Proficient in preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls, performing minor ATS repairs, and load banking equipment.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
• Related military experience or equivalent field experience is acceptable.
• Capability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and replacement of failed engine components.
• Understanding of the operational and functional aspects of Automatic Transfer Systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair with minimal supervision.
• Experience with or a quick ability to learn advanced generator and electric system controls, including Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment within an advanced electric controls environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals, and policies and procedures.
• Competence in basic mathematical concepts.
• Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and make valid conclusions.
• Computer literate, particularly in ERP systems, email, and Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated reasoning skills and sound judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
