Generator Field Technician – Commercial, Electrical Controls, Mechanical, Microgrid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the continuous upkeep and repair of both contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment.

• Deliver technical assistance to clients regarding operational or maintenance inquiries.

• Engage in daily travel with a self-directed work schedule.

• Provide 24/7 “on-call” services as necessary, except when on PTO or Off Call.

• Maintain and protect company-issued tools, equipment, and instruments.

• Execute necessary preventative maintenance services for contracted equipment as per schedule.

• Interact and communicate with customers effectively.

• Relay availability status to the corporate office.

• Keep the company vehicle in a safe and functional state.

• Ensure that all work complies with PSS standards.

• Accurately and promptly complete all necessary documentation, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other job-related reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• Level II Technician: Requires three years of field experience in servicing generator systems, including some experience with 500kw and above.

• Proficient Level III Technician: Requires six years of field experience in servicing generator systems, with extensive expertise in 500KW and above.

• Skilled in preventative maintenance, paralleling switch gear, ATS repairs, controller retrofits, and Loadbanking equipment.

• Level IV Technician: Requires ten years of field experience servicing generator systems of various sizes and applications.

• Expert in preventative maintenance, paralleling switch gear, retrofitting advanced controls, and Loadbanking equipment.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; related military experience or equivalent field experience preferred.

• Familiarity with Volvo and PSI engines.

• Operational and functional knowledge of Automatic Transfer Systems.

• Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities.

• Ability to engage with customers where tact is necessary.
