General Manager, Scholarship Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• You will be responsible for the growth and management of our two emerging initiatives — the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit Program and the Alabama School Choice Tax Credit.

• Your objective is straightforward: to expand these programs as rapidly as possible through all available channels — including paid acquisition, local marketing, business development, and many innovative strategies we have yet to explore.

• You will maintain Primer's relationship with both national and state tax-credit Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) from start to finish: negotiating final terms, establishing state-specific funding amounts and timelines, and serving as the liaison between their teams and Primer's internal teams (Bursar, Foundation).

• In Alabama, you will engage corporate donors to state SGO partners — including outreach to corporate prospects who can leverage significant state income tax credits ($1m+) — while also fostering individual donor growth through paid acquisition and Primer's network.

⛳️ Requirements

• A well-rounded professional with a strong background in operations, marketing, and client-facing roles. You seamlessly transition between negotiating with partners, crafting creative concepts for paid campaigns, and analyzing retention cohorts.

• You have a proven track record of ownership. You’ve been evaluated based on generated revenue, deals closed, or growth achieved — and you can clearly articulate the strategies you employed to accomplish this.

• You are comfortable negotiating with external partners.

• Experience in managing or directing paid acquisition efforts is essential — while you may not execute the ads yourself, you must understand what constitutes a successful paid acquisition channel.

• There is significant potential for growth. This workstream could expand tenfold in 24 months. We are hiring with a vision for where you will be in year four, not just on day one.
