This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.
• Collaborate closely with the GL team and business partners to ensure financial results are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and post journal entries that are well-supported and conduct monthly account reconciliations.
• Take charge of the daily banking and funding processes.
• Assist in the administration of the fixed asset accounting system and capital accounting.
• Create and distribute various reports.
• Work alongside the GL team to address internal requirements and gain exposure to other departments.
• Assume responsibility for departmental areas and cultivate direct relationships with business partners and their P&L outcomes.
• Contribute to an efficient fiscal close and identify as well as implement process improvements.
• Offer support during external audits.
• Aid in controls compliance and uphold consistent accounting practices within a robust control environment.
• Analyze and reconcile data and results.
• Complete ad-hoc projects as needed.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with advanced Excel capabilities.
• Strong aptitude for systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess an analytical and investigative mindset.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting.
• Experience with month-end close processes.
• Familiarity with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Proficient in financial reporting and analysis.
• Understanding of fixed asset accounting.
• Knowledge in banking and cash management.
• Experience with internal controls and audit support.
• Skills in process improvement.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience with SAP/Oracle Cloud preferred.
• Background in retail or manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance preferred.
• Familiarity with reporting software preferred.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting preferred.
• Previous experience in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and budget analyses preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with SOX control environments preferred.
