This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Manage the entire commercial contracting lifecycle, which includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer MSAs, order forms, data processing agreements, SLAs, NDAs, and renewals for an enterprise SaaS organization.
• Serve as the main legal partner to Sales and Deal Desk, providing prompt and practical advice on deal structures, contract risks, and customer requests that deviate from standard templates.
• Develop and sustain standard templates, redline playbooks, and fallback options to enable the business to operate swiftly while maintaining legal protections.
• Oversee the global data privacy initiative, encompassing GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant frameworks across all jurisdictions where we operate.
• Act as the lead legal advisor to the People team on employment issues across all locations where we employ personnel, including the US, Denmark, the UK, and other active markets.
• Provide counsel on legal and regulatory obligations in all jurisdictions where we conduct business, including the US, Denmark, the UK, and other EU and APAC regions.
• Assist the CEO and CFO with corporate governance matters, including Board preparations, equity plan management, and investor documentation.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to at least one US state bar in good standing, with a preference for New York.
• 5-7 years of legal experience, ideally blending law firm training with in-house experience at a technology or SaaS company.
• Robust background in commercial contracting, with hands-on experience drafting and negotiating enterprise SaaS or technology agreements.
• Practical experience with GDPR and data privacy matters, including Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and cross-border transfer frameworks.
• Experience in employment law across multiple US states, along with some exposure to European employment regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating legal concepts to non-lawyer colleagues at all levels, including the executive team and Board.
