Functional Development Engineer – Hydrogen Energy Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Morocco.

📋 Description

• Create operational strategies and functional concepts for advanced energy systems and electrified powertrain applications.

• Establish system functions, operating modes, and state-machine logic in accordance with system requirements.

• Identify sensor and actuator specifications.

• Formulate concepts for diagnostics, monitoring, fault management, and safe-state operations.

• Assist in functional decomposition, interface definition, and the development of functional architecture.

• Ensure traceability of requirements and participate in planning for verification and validation.

• Support activities related to functional integration.

• Collaborate with system, software, and testing teams throughout the development lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's degree or an Engineering degree in Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in functional development, systems engineering, or control systems development.

• Proficient knowledge of requirements engineering and the development of specifications.

• Experience defining system and subsystem architectures.

• Strong grasp of functional architecture, functional decomposition, and interface management.

• Familiarity with verification and validation processes, as well as requirements traceability.

• Experience with MBSE/SysML methodologies and requirements management tools (such as DOORS, Polarion, Codebeamer, or their equivalents).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in English within an international engineering context.

• Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262).

• Experience with FMEA and HAZOP methodologies.

• Background in Fuel Cell, Hydrogen, Battery, or Energy Systems development.
