This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• The Fullstack Web Development Course Instructor plays a vital role within the instructional team.
• With a strong emphasis on the academic achievements of each student, instructors leverage their subject matter expertise and thorough understanding of the curriculum and student demographics to identify trends that may hinder academic success.
• Engage in targeted outreach and provide instruction to specific groups and individuals.
• Foster capable learners who are confident in their ability to excel academically and in life.
• Instructors are not responsible for creating lessons or assessments, nor do they assign grades to student work (grading is managed by a centralized pool of qualified Graders).
• Attendance at periodic team meetings (as determined by the department) is mandatory.
• Proficiency in both English and Portuguese (mandatory).
• A bachelor’s degree accompanied by a minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Relational and NoSQL databases.
• Competence in frontend web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JSON.
• Experience with web development frameworks like Node.js and React.
• Knowledge of version control systems, particularly GitHub.
• A strong understanding of and commitment to BYU Pathway Worldwide’s mission, defining traits, and student demographics.
• Ability to adapt to new processes, procedures, and technologies.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills: professional, respectful, and impartial in sensitive situations.
• Proven dependability and ability to meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, video conferencing tools, and discipline-specific software.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
• Experience with online teaching/learning, particularly with at-risk learners (preferred).
• Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English and submit their application in English to be eligible for consideration.
