Full-Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the design, execution, and delivery of intricate features across backend services and web applications.

• Develop and sustain REST APIs and webhooks for enterprise customer integrations, prioritizing reliability, security, and comprehensive documentation.

• Spearhead integrations from technical scoping to go-live in collaboration with Product, Success, and customer engineering teams.

• Leverage data and customer insights to enhance the Burq Dashboard for mission-critical delivery operations.

• Ensure production quality through monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventative measures.

• Elevate engineering standards via code reviews, contributions to technical design, mentoring, and process enhancements.

• Incorporate AI tools into your daily routine for development, testing, and debugging activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional software engineering experience, demonstrating a history of deploying and managing production systems.

• Proficient in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript for backend development.

• Experienced in building web applications using React or a similar modern framework.

• Strong background in designing and constructing REST APIs and microservices.

• Familiar with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as building on AWS.

• Proven experience in integrating with third-party systems and APIs, including webhooks, authentication, and effectively managing failures.

• Possess a strong ownership mindset: you navigate problems from uncertainty to resolution, follow through independently, and hold yourself accountable for results, not just task completion.

• AI-native: you routinely and adeptly utilize AI tools (like Claude, Unblocked, etc.) in your daily activities and quickly adapt to new technologies.

• Effective communicator capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers.

• Experience in delivery, logistics, or marketplace platforms.

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration (e.g., Temporal) or event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka).

• Knowledge of enterprise integrations and security requirements (SSO, IP allowlisting, audit logging).
