Full Stack Engineer – Innovation Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement the next generation of privacy-centric analytics features — ranging from quick prototypes and AI-driven insights to scalable product innovations seamlessly integrated into Matomo’s core platform.

• Take ownership of the complete innovation development process within a small, self-sufficient team, collaborating closely with the CTO and senior engineers to transform impactful ideas into practical, ready-to-launch solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in backend development using PHP or Python, along with proficiency in databases and frontend development with JavaScript.

• Demonstrated success in delivering features from start to finish — encompassing concept development, prototyping, and production.

• Strong analytical skills with a practical approach to innovation and new technologies.

• Ability to work independently in a small, dynamic team while effectively managing priorities.

• A product-focused mindset, adept at converting user requirements and strategic objectives into tangible, impactful solutions.

• Comfortable balancing swift delivery with high engineering quality.

• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and strategies for mitigation.

• Experience in creating automated tests, code reviews, and producing technical documentation.

• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate ideas, reasoning, and trade-offs clearly.

• Comfortable working in a fully remote, global, and agile setting.

• Familiarity with analytics, reporting, data visualization, or AI/ML integrations.

• Experience contributing to or developing open-source projects.

• Understanding of UX principles and/or data-driven product design.

• Previous experience in innovation, R&D, or product prototyping environments.

• Proficiency in the German language.

• Experience utilizing AI-driven tools and methodologies to enhance experimentation, development, and quality.
