Full-Stack Engineer – AI Verification, Fraud Detection Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Spearhead architectural decisions as the platform transitions from a transactional web application to an AI-enabled, agentic system.

• Design and develop a modular pipeline for document staging, automated rule-based validation, third-party verification, and fraud signal detection.

• Assess the value added by LLMs versus the reliability, cost-effectiveness, and auditability of deterministic, rule-based logic.

• Construct verification and evaluation pipelines that include hallucination guardrails within a regulated, PII-sensitive environment.

• Architect for future extensibility to accommodate additional modules, such as portfolio management and lender/buyer portals.

• Establish the technical foundation for SOC 2 compliance without necessitating a complete platform rewrite.

• Collaborate with a small, senior founding engineering team, delivering results autonomously and efficiently.

• Take ownership of the technical direction for systems that support transactional workflows for lenders and financial partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in advanced conversational English; requires direct, daily interaction with a US-based executive team.

• Over 6 years of experience as a senior or staff-level software engineer, demonstrating a history of owning architecture in a growing startup.

• Demonstrated experience in building or evolving systems that blend AI/LLM components with deterministic, rule-based logic.

• Practical experience with verification/evaluation pipelines and strategies for minimizing hallucination risks in production AI systems.

• Familiarity with document-intensive workflows: extraction, validation rules, and integration with external data sources.

• Strong background in modern technology stacks such as Vercel and Supabase (or their equivalents).

• Experience in regulated, compliance-sensitive environments is highly advantageous.

• Comfortable operating with significant autonomy, rapid iteration, and direct engagement with technical and executive stakeholders.

• Previous experience in preparing a platform for SOC 2 certification is a plus.

• Experience with fraud detection systems is beneficial.

• Background in lending, capital markets, or structured finance technology is a plus.
