This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop and construct AI agent tools: Build backend services and APIs that AI agents can utilize to retrieve data, initiate workflows, and engage with both internal and external systems.
• Integrate with current services and APIs: Link agent tools to LanguageWire’s internal platform APIs, third-party services, and databases.
• Establish tool schemas and contracts: Create clear, well-documented tool interfaces that LLMs and orchestration layers can effectively utilize.
• Create agentic features and workflows: Develop comprehensive automated workflows where AI agents address specific business needs across various departments, including operations, finance, sales, and project management.
• Take ownership of your services from start to finish: Oversee the entire process from architecture and coding to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance (“You build it, you run it”).
• Contribute to backend services and data layers: Enhance existing .NET microservices and databases to provide the necessary capabilities for AI tools.
• Establish and enhance CI/CD pipelines for reliable and frequent deployments.
• Implement DevOps and Operational Excellence best practices to ensure that agent tools are observable, resilient, and secure.
• Share insights with the team and assist in defining our approach to building AI-powered products.
• Strong backend expertise: C#, .NET Core / .NET 6+, ASP.NET Web API, microservices.
• Solid experience with relational databases (MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL), including query design, schema design, and performance optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to design and develop REST APIs and integrate with third-party services and webhooks.
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and message queues (e.g., Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ).
• Some exposure to frontend technologies (Vue.js and/or TypeScript), sufficient to contribute when necessary, with an emphasis on backend development.
• Practical knowledge of LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI), including how to call them, manage context, and handle responses.
• Familiarity with designing or utilizing tool/function calling schemas, defining what an agent can invoke and how.
• Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar agent-tool integration patterns (or willingness to learn).
• Knowledge of security and authentication for exposed tool APIs (OAuth 2.0, API keys, rate limiting, input validation).
• Observability mindset: experience with logging, tracing, and monitoring tool invocations and agent interactions.
• A product-oriented approach: you are focused on solving real business challenges rather than merely completing tasks.
• Comfortable collaborating with domain experts (non-technical stakeholders) to identify automation opportunities and translate them into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English required.
• Agile, collaborative, and constructively opinionated.
• Experience flat hierarchies, responsibility and freedom, direct feedback, and opportunities to advocate for your own ideas.
• Access to internal development opportunities, ongoing support from your People Partner, and a welcoming and enjoyable company culture.
• Work for an international company with over 300 employees, with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Stockholm, Varberg, London, Leuven, Lille, Paris, Munich, Hamburg, Sophia Antipolis, Atlanta, Finland, and Valencia.
• For this position, we offer a full-time FlexiWire@home option for remote work.
• Engage in an international environment with over 20 different nationalities.
