Full Stack Developer – Shopify, Hydrogen

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain fully customized Shopify Hydrogen storefronts utilizing React Router, integrating sophisticated commerce features and headless solutions.

• Create responsive user interfaces employing HTML, CSS, and modern React; take ownership of frontend performance across all storefronts.

• Oversee the migration process from legacy frontends (one Shopify Liquid, two Django-based) to Hydrogen, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to business operations.

• Troubleshoot and enhance the entire data flow from React components through GraphQL to backend systems.

• Expand and sustain Python/Django code that powers GraphQL API integrations between Shopify and our internal PIM/ERP/CRM monolith.

• Develop custom middleware and integrations when standard Shopify functionalities are incompatible with our headless stack (e.g., creating custom feed generators for syndication, Algolia reindexing logic).

• Adjust data exchange layers and API endpoints as business needs evolve.

• Navigate and improve the monolithic Django codebase without compromising existing functionalities.

• Manage software-defined infrastructure for Hydrogen deployments—creating CI/CD pipelines, configuring environments, and automating releases to Oxygen or similar edge platforms.

• Oversee the deployment toolchain from local development to production.

• Resolve deployment and infrastructure challenges across the entire stack.

• Translate ambiguous business requests (e.g., "we need Pinterest syndication," "can we modify search functionality?") into technical solutions—evaluating if this requires a quick fix, custom integration, or architectural discussion.

• Recognize when requirements impact core architecture, necessitate significant data migration, or involve business implications that require CTO input; escalate strategically rather than routinely.

• Effectively communicate technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders without coming off as dismissive or overly technical.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong frontend expertise in HTML, CSS, and modern React.

• Practical experience with Shopify Hydrogen (React Router-based), Storefront API, and headless commerce architecture.

• Proficient in Python with Django experience; comfortable navigating monolithic codebases and API integrations.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deploying to serverless/edge platforms.

• Experience with Shopify's GraphQL APIs (Admin and Storefront); ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.

• Proven ability to self-manage on clear technical tasks while recognizing when to elevate ambiguous requirements or architectural decisions.

• Strong English communication skills; adept at explaining technical constraints to non-technical team members.

• Full-time availability (40 hours/week).
